Lucknow: A 90-year-old man was beaten to death by his son in Itaunja area for refusing to give money to buy liquor in Aramba village on Wednesday night. The accused was arrested on Thursday.Rakesh Kumar Gautam hit his father Ramdeen (90) with a stick, injuring him critically. Ramdeen was rushed to Ram Sagar Mishra Hospital in BKT, where he died.Of Ramdeen’s four sons Rajesh, Rakesh, Motilal and Rajaram, Rajesh lives in the city, while rest stayed with their father in the village. Motilal told police Rakesh demanded money for liquor and when his father refused, he attacked him.ACP BKT Gyanendra Singh said a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered against Rakesh on Motilal’s complaint and he was arrested.Family mentioned a dispute over distribution of 15 kg silver and ancestral land among the brothers and Ramdeen was going to settle the matter after Diwali.
