Municipal employees protest over salary and PF issues | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Demanding the resolution of salary discrepancies and the payment of pending provident fund (PF) dues, employees from all 17 municipal corporations of Uttar Pradesh staged a joint protest in the city on Thursday.The routine work was disrupted, leaving visitors stranded, as the protesting employees locked zonal offices, including the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) headquarters. Protesters from across the state gathered at the LMC headquarters in the morning, raising slogans for nearly two hours before marching to the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Hazratganj. “We have been facing salary irregularities and delays in PF deposits for months. The administration must act now,” said one of the protesting employees. The demonstration was called off after additional city magistrate Chandra Bhushan Tiwari met the protesting employees and received their memorandum.
