‘Early detection vital for mgmt of OSA’ | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Early detection and a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach are crucial for the effective management of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), said experts.They were speaking during a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) on Monday to mark National Orthodontist Day. OSA is a disorder where the upper airway repeatedly collapses during sleep, causing breathing to pause or become very shallow. Prof CM Singh noted that OSA impacts not just individuals but society as a whole. Programme coordinator and head of the dental department Prof Shaili Mahajan stressed that early diagnosis enables successful interventions through orthodontic appliances and growth modification.
