Lucknow: Assistant professor of the English department at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU), Alka Singh, has been awarded a prestigious grant by the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University).Her visit will be fully sponsored to facilitate her participation in the 7th International Conference, titled “The Magic of Innovation: Linguistics and Language Education in New Multilateralisms,” scheduled for Oct 24–25, 2025, in Moscow. Singh’s research paper, “Bridging Linguistic and Cultural Gaps: Innovative Practices in Teaching English to Russian-Speaking Students,” has garnered international attention for its groundbreaking approach to language education. The paper proposes a novel teaching model that emphasises the use of authentic materials and real-life scenarios to enhance contextual learning. It also advocates integrating technology, such as language learning apps and multimedia resources, to engage students . Singh’s model promotes a cultural exchange approach, encouraging students to share their cultural experiences and traditions to foster cross-cultural understanding and empathy.
