Nod to addl manpower for waste mgmt units | Lucknow News
Lucknow: At a meeting of the apex committee of ‘Uttar Pradesh State Sanitation Mission’ under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), chief secretary S P Goyal directed officials to identify immediately sites for plastic waste management units and faecal sludge treatment plants. He also granted approval for appointment of additional manpower for the SNA Sparsh Cell.During the meeting, principal secretary panchayati raj, Anil Kumar, informed the chief secretary about execution of technical work related to FSTPs in urban areas. The technical agency was directed to work on design and estimate for establishment of FSTPs.Swachh Bharat Mission (rural) director, panchayati raj, Amit Kumar Singh, gave details about the mission’s objectives, duration and financial arrangements. He said 54,17,255 toilets were completed and geo-tagged on govt of India website. He added that 93,697 villages were declared ODF Plus Model Villages, where solid and liquid waste management work was carried out on priority basis. Out of these, first-level verification of 81,936 villages was completed.Singh added that 115 biogas plants were established under Gobardhan projects in UP. One faecal sludge management plant each was completed and operationalised in Hapur and Amroha districts. Additionally, construction of 102 plastic waste management units was completed too.
