Lucknow: Mystery shrouds the death of an inspector posted with the Crime Branch in Lucknow, who drowned in a highly guarded swimming pool of the 35 Battalion of PAC in Mahanagar.Identified as Ashwini Chaturvedi, 42, from Ambedkarnagar district, his body was recovered approximately two hours after he allegedly drowned. DCP (Central) Ashish Srivastava said the police were informed around noon that inspector Chaturvedi had drowned in the swimming pool of the 35 Battalion of PAC. A police team, along with PAC jawans and an SDRF team, pulled him out of the pool. “He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” the DCP said. He added that Chaturvedi had visited the pool around 6 am for swimming on Friday, and prima facie, it appeared he died of drowning. “However, for a thorough investigation, the police will conduct a postmortem.
