Lucknow: UP Hockey and CAG registered contrasting wins over their respective opponents in the All-India KD Singh ‘Babu’ Men’s Hockey Tournament at the Mohd Shahid Stadium on Wednesday.Uttar Pradesh Hockey thrashed GST and Central Excise 6-0. Ujjwal Pal scored a brace (5th and 22nd minutes), while Lalit Upadhyay (19th), skipper Uttam Singh (46th), Ketan Kushwaha (51st), and Gaurav Yadav (57th) added one goal each to complete the rout. In another match, CAG, Delhi edged past Combined Hostel UP 3-1. Bharat Mahalingappa Kurtakoti opened the scoring in the 2nd minute by converting a penalty corner. Anshu Pandey struck back in the 14th minute to hand CUP an equaliser. Thrishul Ganapathi (41st) and Venkatesh Telugu (53rd) converted penalty corners to script a CAG win.
