‘Bookverse’ mesmerizes bibliophiles at LU fest

Lucknow: The stall showcasing Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya, a pioneering digital library initiative by the Ministry of Education, Govt of India, and National Book Trust, was a major draw for visitors on the 1st day of the Gomti Book Festival at Lucknow University. This groundbreaking platform offers over 3,000 e-books across 14 genres in 22 regional languages and English, providing free access to a vast literary treasure trove for children and young adults. The initiative’s presence at the festival sparked immense interest, highlighting its potential to revolutionize reading habits and accessibility in the country.Launched in 2024, Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya is a digital library that offers a vast collection of books online and through its mobile app, available on both Google Play Store and Apple Store. This initiative aims to cultivate lifelong reading habits, stimulate creativity and critical thinking, and promote India’s rich cultural heritage while embracing global values. It offers age-appropriate literature for readers between 3 to 18+ years old. From adventure, fiction, and non-fiction to science, art, culture, mystery, biographies, poetry, classics, comics, and self-help, the platform ensures something for every curious mind. Key features include personalized digital bookshelves, wish-a-book requests, audiobooks, animated books, reading progress trackers, and analytics for schools.
