Lucknow: A woman in charge principal of a central govt-run school has accused a fellow male teacher of sexual harassment at the workplace in Sarojini Nagar.According to the victim, the accused teacher was served a memo after students submitted a complaint that he never worked. “Following this, the teacher started mentally harassing me by making objectionable and obscene gestures,” the victim said. “I have always exercised restraint and patience in the face of such harassment, but it became a common practice,” she alleged. She said recently the accused refused to perform duty after he was assigned the task of room invigilator during home exams. “When he was asked to sign the attendance register, he applied for leave. When questioned, he recorded the ongoing conversation with his mobile phone, shouted at me, threatened me, and attempted to assault me, as he has done in the past,” she alleged. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Krishnanagar, Vikas Pandey, said that an FIR was registered under the charges of BNS 75 (2) (sexual harassment), 132 (assaulting public servant), and 352 (intentionally insulting a person) against the accused.
