NEW DELHI: The Patna high court on Wednesday directed the Congress party to take out the controversial AI-generated video depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother in a ‘derogatory manner’ from its social media handles.It also issued notices to Facebook, Twitter and Google, directing them to file their replies within three weeks, ahead of the next day of hearing.A division bench of acting Chief Justice PB Bajanthri and Justice Alok Kumar Sinha passed the order while hearing a writ petition filed by advocate Vivekanand Singh and others.The petitioner’s counsel Pravin Kumar called the video a “defamatory publication” and violative of restraints placed on political parties under the Representation of the People Act.In the petition, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Union govt and the Election Commission were also named as respondents.
