BJP no longer a political party, it has become a gang: Akhilesh | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said a thorough probe into land deals, murders, fake encounters and involvement of IPS officers in the extortion and blackmailing rackets will prove that the BJP is not functioning as a party but rather as a gang.Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, he mentioned the arrest of Kanpur lawyer Akhilesh Dubey on charges of blackmailing and extortion and claimed a ‘proper’ probe into the case will expose how the BJP govt was hand-in-glove in the racket. The state govt has ordered a probe by a Special Investigating Team following allegations that police and administrative officials were involved in the racket which was linked to land deals and more. The SP chief accused the govt of a new trend — arm-twisting the aggrieved to silence the demands for justice. He said the BJP was now running the state ‘with pressure’ tactics rather than by the “Constitution and the law of the land” and cited recent cases in Kaushambi and Ghazipur as examples.“In Kaushambi, two deputy CMs were backing a warring faction each. In Ghazipur too, justice continues to elude the aggrieved. These are not the only instances. Recently protesting ABVP cadres were canecharged by the police in Barabanki,” Akhilesh said and added that “From Ghazipur to Ghaziabad, their MLAs and ministers are staging sit-ins and protests against their own police and administrative officials.”“Mukhya mantri awas mein, mukhya mantri office mein samjhaute hone lage hain … phir nyay kisko milega (When people are made to reach compromises inside the CM’s officials residence and office, then who will get justice),” Akhilesh said.Earlier he was felicitated by a delegation of Vishwakarma community after which he announced that if voted to office in 2027, SP will install a grand golden statue of Lord Vishwakarma at the Gomti riverfront in Lucknow.‘SP will replace outsourcing with govt jobs’If SP forms govt after 2027 assembly polls, it will replace outsourcing in govt departments with permanent jobs, said Akhilesh Yadav. “Samajwadi Party is opposed to outsourcing of staff in govt departments. We will replace it and ensure that reservation is provided for as per the Constitutional provisions,” Akhilesh said. He said shortage of staff in state medical colleges has adversely impacted medical education and also crippled health services in the state.‘Hope SC will give more justice on waqf Act’On the Supreme Court stay on some key provisions of the Waqf Amendment Act, Akhilesh Yadav reiterated SP’s stance that govt must not interfere in religious issues. Akhilesh said: “Humein umeed hai Supreme Court aur nyay dega .. aur nyay milega (We are hopeful that Supreme Court will give more justice).
