Over 400 to get degrees at SGPGIMS convo | Lucknow News

Lucknow: SGPGIMS will celebrate its 29th convocation on Tuesday during which over 400 degrees and certificates across specialty and super-specialty branches of medical science, nursing education and research will be awarded to recipients, an official spokesperson said.Padma Vibhushan and globally acclaimed gastroenterologist Dr D Nageshwar Reddy will deliver the convocation day address in the presence of fovernor Anandiben Patel, visitor to the institute, deputy chief minister and cabinet minister for medical education, medical health, and family welfare Brajesh Pathak, as well as officiating chief secretary Deepak Kumar and others. Dr Reddy is the founder chairman of the Hyderabad-based Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and one of the few Indians to have earned all three Padma awards. The spokesperson said in addition to the students, 17 faculty members and residents will be acknowledged for their contribution towards excellence in research or clinical activities. SGPGIMS director Prof R K Dhiman, himself an alumnus of the institute, will present the institute report for the last year, and dean, Prof Shaleen Kumar, will propose the vote of thanks.
