Lucknow: A case of bullying, kidnapping and extortion surfaced in Gomtinagar, in which a Class IX student was allegedly harassed by his seniors. The teenager was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and forced to part with money by group of Class X boys of his colony.Police said the incident occurred several days ago but remained unreported as the accused threatened the boy with dire consequences if he spoke out. On Friday night, the boy’s mother, noticed his condition and approached Gomtinagar police and lodged FIR naming three boys and their aides, all residents of Gomtinagar. She complained that the boys took her son by force to a deserted spot and thrashed him while demanding Rs 50,000.” The mother alleged her son was under constant fear and asking for money frequently at home, which she initially thought was for school. “The boys bullied my son in school and in neighbourhood. For the last ten days, my child was unusually silent and we suspect he had already given money out of fear,” she told police. TNN
