La Martiniere alumni gather in celebration | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Lawns of Lucknow Golf Club glowed with warmth and laughter on Friday as the La Martiniere Girls’ Alumni gathered for the Founder’s Day Dinner. It was a walk down memory lane, where every smile, every story and every hug carried the weight of cherished years. The occasion celebrated Major General Claude Martin, the visionary founder whose legacy continues to shape lives even today. But beyond the formalities, it was the little things that made the evening magical, the way old classmates picked up conversations as though no time had passed, the teasing about long-forgotten pranks and the heartfelt reminiscences of classrooms, assemblies and rainy-day adventures.“Assemblies in the old auditorium and the canteen during recess were the best parts of school life. Those moments carried a charm of their own, the excitement of sitting together, whispering during long announcements and then rushing to the canteen. The school was not just about studies, but about laughter, friendship and the bonds we still carry with us.” said Radhika Sharma, batch of 2007Gulshia Rizvi, batch 2007, said, “Our hanging spot under the neem tree is etched in memory. Even today, whenever I see a neem tree, I am instantly transported back to those afternoons when time seemed to stand still.” For some, the nostalgia reached even further back. Shreen Abbas, batch of 1988, said, “I remember the 1984 floods in Lucknow. At the time, it felt like an adventure mixed with challenge, but now it seems funny that we treated a flood as an excuse to enjoy rainy days.”
