Lucknow: In a display of skill and determination, Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur and Varanasi secured a spot in the semifinals of the 29th Sub-Junior Boys Uttar Pradesh State Basketball Championship held at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Multipurpose Hall, KD Singh Babu Stadium, on Wednesday. Agra triumphed over Gautam Budh Nagar with a decisive 51-35 victory in the quarter-finals, the match saw a fierce contest in the first half, with Agra leading 29-21 at halftime. Post-break, Agra’s aggressive strategy paid off, with standout player Aman scoring 27 points, leading his team to victory. In the second quarter-final, Meerut dominated by defeating Baghpat 47-11. By halftime, Meerut had already taken a 39-8 lead. Key contributions came from Sameer (12 points), and Kaushal (9 points). In the third quarter-final, Gorakhpur defeated Prayagraj 48-30, while in fourth quarter-final, Varanasi beat Sitapur 67-34.
