Lucknow: The toppers have set a benchmark for future generations, and they need to excel more in life, said culture and tourism minister Jaiveer Singh while addressing students at the 15th convocation ceremony of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya at Kala Mandapam on Wednesday.Singh said, “Graduating students must work harder to become big artists in their fields. These students are crucial to releasing the dream of India becoming a fully developed nation by 2047.” “The success of women students was noteworthy as they constituted over half of the medal winners. This proves that whenever daughters are given opportunities, they achieve remarkable success,” he added. Chief guest Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, former head of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) joined the event virtually to congratulate the students. “Indian classical music, which is also scientific, must be taught in a very empirical manner if we want our traditional music to prosper. It is the duty of every Indian to not only learn forms of Indian classical music but to take it to new heights,” he said. State minister for higher Education Rajni Tiwari also praised the achievements of the students and said, “It is commendable to see that girls have acquired 21 medals out of 40 medals. They must continue to prosper like this.” University vice-chancellor Prof Mandavi Singh, registrar Shrishti Dhawan and examination controller Ruchi Khare were also present on the occasion.
