Shubhanshu Shukla to grace AKTU convocation today; get DSc degree | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla will be the chief guest at the 23rd convocation ceremony of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) on Tuesday.He will also be awarded a Doctor of Science (DSc) degree by the university. A total of 88 medals will be given medals in the ceremony, comprising 37 gold medals, 26 silver, and 25 bronze medals. Apart from this, 53,943 students will be awarded degrees in various courses, while 86 students will be awarded PhDs. The Student Startup Award will be given in six categories during the convocation. Three engineering students from the only govt college in the city, the Institute of Technology Engineering and Technology (IET), will also be awarded medals on the occasion.Gold medal winner from IET, BTech in Computer Science, Kinjal Gupta, said, “This medal is the result of hard work and consistency that helped me score a 9.52 CGPA. This will give me more confidence to fulfil my dream of becoming a leading computer science professional, delivering high-quality technical solutions for pressing problems.” Silver medal winner Ashutosh Patel, who is pursuing MTech from IIT BHU, said, “I never took any coaching. Books, classroom lectures, and self-studies helped me score a 9.5 CGPA in my BTech. My family, parents, and three sisters are my biggest source of motivation.” He said, “I want to become a civil servant to serve the nation.” Bronze medal winner Astha Katiyar, a BTech Computer Science and Engineering student, said, “Consistency, focus, and faith in hard work have helped me win this medal. My aim in life is to keep learning, adapting, and growing into a leader who makes meaningful contributions to society.” Naincy Purwar to get Chancellor’s medal Naincy Purwar, a student of BTech Computer Science and Engineering at Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (PSIT), Kanpur, will be awarded the Chancellor’s Medal. The Chancellor’s Medal is awarded to the student with the highest academic performance across all faculties. Unnati Gaur, a student of BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering at RD Engineering College, Ghaziabad, will be awarded the Late Kamal Rani Varun Gold Medal.
