27 medals to differently abled | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University Lucknow announced final medal list for its 12th convocation ceremony to be held on Sep 16.For the first time since inception of the university in 2008, highest number of disabled students won medals and will be awarded the same on the occasion.Of the 166 medals, 27 medals will be awarded to differently abled students. Out of the total 166 medals, there will be 81 gold medals, 43 silver medals and 42 bronze medals.Around 143 students will be awarded 166 medals, of which 76 medals will be awarded to girl students and 67 to boys. “This is the first time differently abled students have won 27 medals, of which 10 are girl students. Of these, three are visually impaired girl students and seven visually impaired boys,” said Prof Yashwant Virodai, DSMNRU spokesperson.He said on the 12th convocation, the university will be awarding degrees to a total of 1,803 students and 22 degrees to research scholars.
