Man carrying Hydroponic Ganja worth Rs 13 crore detained at airport | Lucknow News
Lucknow: In a major drug bust at Lucknow airport, Mohammad Imran, an electrician from Bijnor district, was detained by immigration officials after 24 packets of Hydroponic Ganja, weighing approximately 13 kilograms and valued at Rs 13 crore, was found in his possession. Imran had arrived from Bangkok on Air India Express Flight IX-105. During questioning, Imran confessed that he had been instructed in Bangkok to deliver the contraband at Lucknow airport in exchange for Rs 10,000. The case took a deeper turn when officials recovered another suspicious bag from the airport premises. This second stash also contained Hydroponic Ganja and was traced to a man named Manikant, also a resident of Bijnor. Investigators believe both men were traveling together and had smuggled the drugs on the same flight. However, Manikant managed to evade capture and is currently absconding. Authorities are now intensifying efforts to locate him. This incident comes just days after the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested two individuals in Delhi with 24 kg of Hydroponic Ganja worth Rs 24 crore, indicating a growing trend in high-value drug trafficking from Southeast Asia.
