Book fair opens tomorrow for wordsmiths

Lucknow: The 22nd National Book Fair will be inaugurated by Governor Anandiben Patel on Thursday. The city’s much awaited fair is back with exciting discounts and bigger publishers and it will be open at Balrampur Garden, from 11am to 9pm daily till Sept 14. Vending books in Hindi, English, Urdu and regional languages, 62 publishers are setting their stalls. Visitors will have a wide choice in fiction, science fiction, urdu fiction, self help books, realism, mystery, non fiction, mythology, thriller, romantics, memoirs, autobiographies, children’s fiction, horror, crime fiction, literary fiction, short stories, poetry and history books. Besides 120 stalls of books, stationery, accessories and food, a separate corner for youngsters for reading, poets meet, mushairas and storytelling sessions will be organised too. A new feature this year is ‘Book to Screen Club’ in which videos giving information about classics will be played. Organiser Manoj Chandel said theme this year is ‘Vision 2047′.
