Oxytocin smuggling ring foiled: 4 arrested arrested by UP STF | Lucknow News
Lucknow: The UPSTF on Saturday arrested four members of a syndicate that was allegedly smuggling oxytocin injections from Bihar to Lucknow. The injections were used for artificially inducing milk production in cattle and accelerating ripening of fruits and vegetables posing serious health risks to livestock and affecting public health.STF sleuths intercepted the gang near a govt school in Muzaffar Kheda, Para police station area, seizing injections and manufacturing material worth nearly Rs 2 crore. STF SSP Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan said the gang developed a supply chain from Bihar to Lucknow. Consignments of oxytocin were shipped from Bihar disguised as mineral water parcels.“In Lucknow, it was repackaged into smaller ampoules and bottles at illegal facilities before being pushed into black markets across Lucknow and adjoining districts,” he said. Irfan and Dildar Ali of Lucknow, Shahnawaz of Kheri and Mohd Sahebe of Rae Bareli — were arrested with 20 gallons oxytocin solution and 39 sacks full of ampoules,.
