Feed pets at designated spots, obtain licence: LMC advisory | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Acting on Supreme Court directions and in line with the Animal Birth Control Rules 2023, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) on Monday issued an advisory for pet owners, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and feeders to regulate dog care and feeding in the city.The civic body directed RWAs and apartment associations to earmark fixed feeding spots for community dogs, away from entry and exit gates and areas frequently used by children and the elderly. The feeding should be done at designated spots and in consultation with residents and feeders. The advisory also urges feeders to cooperate with LMC in sterilisation and anti-rabies vaccination drives in their localities. Pet owners were instructed to keep dogs on a leash in public places and obtain licence for their pets through the LMC website (lmc.up.nic.in).Dr Abhinav Verma, animal welfare officer, LMC, said, “We request the animal lovers to abide by the guidelines and rules for keeping pets.”
