Lucknow: A horrific incident unfolded in Siddharthnagar’s Showaratgarh area, where a 35-year-old man’s rage over a village panchayat’s decision to separate him from his lover led to brutal violence. Enraged, he murdered the girl’s father and brutally stabbed her mother, leaving her intestines exposed. The attacker then targeted the girl before fleeing the scene late Saturday.Mukesh Nishad, the accused, had been in a relationship with his cousin Kiran, the daughter of Ramkala Nishad from Kevtahiyadih village under the Mishrauliya police station. The couple had been living together in Delhi for about a year, going against family and social norms. However, their relationship took a dark turn when Kiran complained about Mukesh’s violent behaviour, prompting her father and brother to bring her back home.In July, a village panchayat intervened, declaring their relationship invalid as they were closely related and ordered Kiran to stay away from Mukesh. Enraged, Mukesh issued an open threat in front of the gathering: “If Kiran will not be mine, she will belong to no one.” According to villagers, Mukesh had been seen wandering around with a knife, frequently threatening Kiran’s family. The situation escalated on Aug 10 when he explicitly warned her brother that if she were to marry someone else, he would eliminate their entire family. Around 7:30 pm on Saturday, when Kiran and her mother Prabhavati returned from the fields, Mukesh confronted them with a knife. Later, When Ramkala returned from the market, he attempted to reason with Mukesh, but Mukesh’s anger boiled over, and he launched a deadly knife attack. Ramkala was stabbed repeatedly, succumbing to his injuries on the spot. Mukesh then turned on Prabhavati, brutally stabbing her and causing severe internal injuries, including exposed intestines.Mukesh then attempted to abduct Kiran, dragging her onto his bike. However, when she resisted, he stabbed her multiple times before leaving her in a critical condition. The mother-daughter duo was rushed to Gorakhpur Medical College, where their condition remains critical. The village is under heavy police deployment, with forensic teams collecting evidence. Tension prevailed on Sunday as Ramkala’s relatives refused to perform his last rites until the accused is arrested. “If the police force us, we will bury him outside Mukesh’s house,” a relative said.Additional SP Prashant Kumar Prasad said multiple police teams and a special squad are conducting raids to nab the accused.
